Inka Spang-Grau
Dr. Spang-Grau has several years of experience in matters of organisation of the higher education and research system in Germany and abroad.
From 2010 to the end of 2012 she coordinated the knowledge management at the Head Office of the Wissenschaftsrat. Before joining the Wissenschaftsrat in 1998, she worked at the Higher Education Information System (HIS in Hannover) and worked on construction and resource planning for higher education. Dr. Inka Spang-Grau studied Human and Economic Geography at the University of Marburg and the University of Göttingen. She obtained her PhD in Geography/Sociology at the University of Göttingen (1993). Her thesis and field studies focused on the socio-economic situation of hand-knitting women in Istanbul (Turkey) and the connection of the informal sector with the formal globalised economy. She is a recipient of the Southeast Europe Association Award.
